TalonMC Cobblemon runs Cobblemon 1.7 on Minecraft Java 1.21.1 with Fabric. On top of the mod it adds 10 type gyms with four difficulties, 8 Legendary Quest chains, scheduled raids, five dungeon tiers and a full economy. That is a lot to take in on day one, so this list puts the first ten steps in the order that pays off fastest. Every command below is a real in-game command, and every number comes from the server's own code.
1. Install the TalonMC modpack and join
Cobblemon is a Fabric mod, so your game needs it too. Install the TalonMC Cobblemon modpack on Modrinth with the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or ATLauncher. Launch the modpack profile, add play.talonmc.net under Multiplayer and pick Cobblemon in the hub.
The join queue checks your pack version, and a plain Fabric install is turned away, so always launch from the modpack profile. The pack already includes Mega Showdown (Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamax and Terastallization), a minimap, backpacks, Cobblenav and performance mods. Cobblemon does not run on Bedrock. Our step-by-step join guide covers the common errors.
2. Pick your starter, read /help and claim /kits
A starter prompt appears on your first join. Pick the Pokemon you want to build your early team around. Then type /help to open the in-game guide (it also answers to /codex and /tutorial) and /kits to claim your free kit.
Spend two minutes in /help. It explains the menus you will use for the rest of the week, and it saves a lot of guessing later.
3. Head into World 1 or World 2 with /rtp
Spawn is a protected world. Use /rtp (or /wild) and choose a destination: World 1, World 2 or the Resource World. Build your base in World 1 or World 2. The Resource World is for gathering and gets replaced with a fresh world from time to time, so anything you build there will eventually be gone. World 2 also has its own Nether.
Catch everything you see on the way. Early catches fill your party, count toward hunts and level your Catcher job if you take step 4.
4. Join three jobs that match how you play
Open /jobs. There are 15 jobs, and you can hold 3 at once. Catcher pays for catching wild Pokemon and Battler pays for defeating them, so both earn money from things you are already doing. A third job such as Miner, Lumberjack or Farmer covers whatever you do between catches.
Your job slots grow later: /rankup levels 10, 20 and 30 each add one, up to 6. /jobstop shows the job leaderboards if you like to compete.
5. Start your daily hunts and the bingo board
/hunts shows three daily hunts, three weekly hunts and one monthly legendary hunt. Daily hunts reset every day at 00:00 UTC and pay money, keys or items plus Hunt Points. A daily example is Magikarp Madness: catch 20 Magikarp for $2,500,000, 16 Ultra Balls, 16 Rare Candies and 2 PokeSpinner Keys.
/bingo opens a 4 by 4 board of 16 random non-legendary species that refreshes every 6 hours. Each completed row pays $50,000, a Rare Candy and 4 Ultra Balls. Work on both while you explore and you get paid for catching you were going to do anyway. Spend Hunt Points in /huntshop, where a Master Ball costs 25 points.
6. Vote and claim the free Rookie rank
Type /vote for the vote links. Every vote gives a Vote Key, $2,500, 250 claim blocks and a spin of the vote wheel. Voting 5 times in a day gives 10 Credits and adds a day to your streak, and the 30-day streak pays 3,000 Credits in total.
After 10 minutes of playtime, 2 votes and joining the TalonMC Discord, run /freerank for the free Rookie rank. The full reward ladder is on the rankup, ranks and battlepass page.
7. Claim land and set a home
Once you have found a spot in World 1 or World 2, get a Claim Wand with /claimwand and mark two corners to protect the area. Claims use claim blocks, and your votes already gave you 250 each. Save the spot with /sethome.
Playing with friends? Use /trust to give them full building rights, or /containertrust and /accesstrust for lighter access. More on this in worlds and land claims.
8. Claim /rankup level 1
/rankup (also /levelup) is a 50-level progression track. Level 1 needs 3 votes and unlocks access to /jobs, a Level Key and 250 claim blocks. Level 2 gives your first player warp and level 3 an extra auction house slot.
Rankup matters more than it looks, because it also gates the harder gym difficulties: Normal needs level 5, Hard needs level 10 and Nightmare needs level 15. Starting it early means you are never stuck waiting on a level when your team is ready.
9. Beat Brock's Rock Gym on Easy
When your team reaches about level 18, open /gyms and teleport to the Rock Gym. Gyms go in a fixed order from Rock to Dragon, and inside each gym you beat three trainers before the leader. The Easy level cap at the Rock Gym is 18, and it applies to every Pokemon in your party, not just the ones you send out.
If a Pokemon is close to the cap, use /levelstop to stop it gaining EXP past a chosen level. Losing does not reset your progress inside a gym: heal and challenge the same trainer again. Brock pays $10,000, 100 claim blocks and a random item drop, plus the Boulder Badge on your first win. All ten gyms and their caps are on the gyms page.
10. Run your first Easy dungeon
After you beat the first 4 gyms on Easy, the Easy dungeon tier unlocks in /dungeons. A dungeon is a solo run of 6 waves. You enter with an empty inventory and pay a $5,000,000 entry fee, so save up from jobs and hunts first.
Clearing wave 6 spawns a reward Pokemon that you are guaranteed to catch, with one perfect IV on Easy, plus 5,000 Dungeon Coins and 5 Poke Balls. Every clear also rolls a 1 in 65 shiny chance for the reward Pokemon, and a shiny is guaranteed if you go 65 clears without one. See all five dungeon tiers.
What to do after your first day
Once the basics are done, three things give the best long-term return:
- Legendary Quests. Open
/missions. The Marshadow chain is open from the start and pays $15,000,000 plus a Marshadow summon item at the end. Each chain unlocks the next, eight in all. How legendaries work. - Raids. Server-wide raid bosses fight at 1 PM and 8 PM Eastern on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Join with
/raidduring the 5-minute window. Saturday raids use box-art legendaries. Raid schedule. - Breeding.
/breedopens the daycare. Eggs arrive after 3 hours plus 5,000 steps walked, or 6 hours regardless, and the timer keeps running while you are offline. Breeding guide.
