# TalonMC Gens Beginner's Guide

**Short answer:** Join `play.talonmc.net`, pick Gens in the hub, then follow the steps below. Join Gens and type /tutorial. Steve at spawn starts the guided walkthrough, and every step pays a reward.

## Your first hour on TalonMC Gens

- **Step 2**Harvest crops at the Farm with your Omnitool (left-click grown crops), then /sell your harvest for Money.
- **Step 3**Make your island with /is create <name>.
- **Step 4**Buy your first generator in /genlist and place it on your island. Sell the drops with /sell or /storage sell.
- **Step 5**Upgrade your generators with Money as soon as you can afford it.
- **Step 6**Level the Farm to 5 and /prestige it. Prestige raises your Total Prestige, which gives a generator slot and unlocks higher generator tiers.
- **Step 7**Spend skill points in /skilltree and buy enchants in /omnitool with the coins each world pays.
- **Step 8**Unlock the Mine (/mine) and the Lake (/lake) and prestige all three worlds; Total Prestige is all three added together.
- **Step 9**Keep streaks going for Flow (+20% world XP), and use the AFK zone (/afk) when you step away.
