# TalonMC Cobblemon Modpack: Install and Mods

## TalonMC Cobblemon Modpack: how it works

TalonMC Cobblemon needs the free TalonMC Cobblemon modpack, which sets up Minecraft 1.21.1, Fabric and Cobblemon 1.7 for you. The join queue checks your pack version, so a plain Fabric install is turned away.

**How to open it:** Install the TalonMC Cobblemon modpack from Modrinth with the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or ATLauncher, then join play.talonmc.net.

- **Mega Showdown**: Adds Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamax and Tera to battles.
- **Cobblemon smartphone**: A handy in-game phone for your Pokemon.
- **Maps**: Xaero's Minimap and World Map help you find your way.
- **Storage**: Traveler's Backpack and Tom's Simple Storage keep your items organised.
- **Building**: CobbleFurnies adds furniture for your base.
- **Helpers**: Cobblenav, SimpleTMs, Jade and JEI make catching and crafting easier.
- **Graphics and performance**: Sodium, Iris shaders and Distant Horizons come built in.
- **TalonMC mod**: Adds the server to your list and saves your Cobblenav and waypoint settings across updates.

**Note:** TalonMC does not publish an official RAM requirement for the modpack.

**Tips**

- Cobblemon on TalonMC is Java only, so Bedrock players should try the other TalonMC gamemodes.
- If the game stutters, give the launcher more memory or turn down Distant Horizons and shaders.
- Always launch from the modpack profile, because the join queue checks your pack version.

## Modpack and installation

TalonMC Cobblemon needs the TalonMC Cobblemon modpack from Modrinth (modrinth.com/modpack/talonmc-cobblemon). Install it with the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or ATLauncher. The join queue checks your pack version, and a plain Fabric install is turned away.
The pack runs Minecraft 1.21.1 on Fabric with Cobblemon 1.7 and adds Mega Showdown (Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamax and Tera), the Cobblemon smartphone, CobbleFurnies furniture, gym badges, Legendary Monuments, Xaero's Minimap and World Map, Traveler's Backpack, Lootr, Cobblenav, SimpleTMs, Jade, JEI, Tom's Simple Storage, Sodium, Iris shaders and Distant Horizons.
The pack also ships a small TalonMC mod that adds the server to your list and saves your Cobblenav and waypoint settings across updates.

**Do I need a modpack to join a Cobblemon server?**
Yes. Cobblemon is a Fabric mod, so the client needs it installed. The TalonMC modpack bundles Cobblemon 1.7 and every client mod the server uses, so one install is all you need.
