# How to EV Train in Cobblemon on TalonMC **Short answer:** EVs (effort values) are bonus stat points a Pokemon earns by beating other Pokemon in battle, up to 252 in one stat and 510 in total. To EV train in Cobblemon, battle Pokemon that give the stat you want while holding the matching Power item (+8 per Pokemon beaten), or use vitamins for +10 at a time. EVs, short for effort values, are extra points on top of those stats. Your Pokemon earns them by beating other Pokemon, and each species gives EVs in a fixed stat. Fast Pokemon tend to give Speed, bulky ones HP or Defense. | Max in one stat | 252 | | --- | --- | | Max in total | 510 | | --- | --- | | Usual spread | 252 in two stats, the last 6 in a third | | --- | --- | Once a stat or the total is full, any extra EVs are simply lost, so nothing breaks if you overshoot. ## How to EV train, step by step - Pick the two stats you want to max, for example Attack and Speed on a fast physical attacker. - Find wild Pokemon that give EVs in that stat. - Give your Pokemon the matching Power item to hold. - Battle and beat those Pokemon until the stat reaches 252. - Swap the Power item and repeat for the second stat. EVs are handed out when the battle ends. Every one of your Pokemon that faced the beaten Pokemon gets the full amount, and so does a Pokemon holding an Exp. Share, even if it never battled. Party members that did neither get nothing. They are crafted at a crafting table. - **Vitamins** add 10 EVs straight away, with no battling. In Cobblemon they work all the way up to 252, not just 100. They are brewed in a brewing stand. - **Feathers** add 1 EV, which is handy for exact spreads. - **EV-lowering berries** remove 10 EVs from their stat and raise friendship. Use them to fix a mistake. They cannot be used during a battle. ## Where to get EV items on TalonMC - **Held Item Crate:** all six Power items are in the pool, and together they make up about 42% of rolls. Held Item keys come from the battlepass, voting, gym leaders and hunts. - **Raids:** 1st place wins 5 EV Bundles and 2nd place wins 2. Each EV Bundle holds 5 of every vitamin. - **Crafting and brewing:** Power items, vitamins and feathers use the normal Cobblemon recipes. ## How to check your EVs Open your Pokemon's summary, go to the Stats tab and click through the views (Stats, IVs, EVs, Other) until you reach EVs. Each stat shows as a number out of 252. Hovering a Pokemon in menus on TalonMC also shows its EV total out of 510. ## Skip the grind with PokeBuilder `/pokebuilder` (also `/pb`) lets you set EVs directly on any Pokemon in your party or PC, legendaries included.
