# TalonMC Cobblemon Beginner's Guide

**Short answer:** Join `play.talonmc.net`, pick Cobblemon in the hub, then follow the steps below. Install the TalonMC Cobblemon modpack from Modrinth with the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or ATLauncher.

## Your first hour on TalonMC Cobblemon

- **Step 1**Install the TalonMC Cobblemon modpack from Modrinth with the Modrinth App, Prism Launcher or ATLauncher.
- **Step 2**Add play.talonmc.net to your server list and join Cobblemon from the hub.
- **Step 3**Pick your starter Pokemon when the prompt appears on first join.
- **Step 4**Type /help to read the in-game guide, then /kits to claim your free kit.
- **Step 5**Use /rtp to travel into World 1 or World 2 and start catching Pokemon.
- **Step 6**Join up to 3 jobs with /jobs, such as Catcher and Battler, so you earn money while you catch and battle.
- **Step 7**Check /hunts and /bingo and work on your 3 daily hunts while you explore.
- **Step 8**Vote with /vote for keys, money and claim blocks, then claim the free Rookie rank with /freerank once you have 10 minutes played, 2 votes and have joined the Discord.
- **Step 9**Get a Claim Wand with /claimwand and protect your first base, then save it with /sethome.
- **Step 10**When your team reaches about level 18, open /gyms and challenge Brock's Rock Gym on Easy.
- **Step 11**Claim /rankup level 1 as soon as you have 3 votes to unlock more rewards.
- **Step 12**After beating the first 4 gyms on Easy, try your first Easy dungeon from /dungeons.

## TalonMC Cobblemon commands

| /quests | Daily player quests that count toward /rankup. |

| /shop | Buy and sell items with the server. |

| /bal | Check your balance; /pay sends money and /transactions shows history. |
| /claimwand | Get the Claim Wand used to create land claims. |
| /trust <player> | Give a player build rights in your claim; also /accesstrust, /containertrust, /permissiontrust, /untrust and /trustlist. |
| /abandonclaim | Remove the claim you are standing in. |
| /rtp | Random teleport into World 1, World 2 or the Resource World (also /wild). |

**Do I need a modpack to join a Cobblemon server?**
Yes. Cobblemon is a Fabric mod, so the client needs it installed. The TalonMC modpack bundles Cobblemon 1.7 and every client mod the server uses, so one install is all you need.

No. Cobblemon only runs on Java Edition. Bedrock players can join every other TalonMC gamemode.
